Eon are proposing a development for an offshore wind farm on a site located around 13km from the Sussex coast at its nearest point. The site could accommodate an installed electrical capacity of up to 700 megawatts (MW) and in a typical year, we estimate the scheme could generate enough electricity for the domestic needs of the equivalent of around 450,000 UK homes. That's more than two thirds of the homes in the whole of Sussex, and will be on our doorstep.
